En la búsqueda de la relación entre el cerro y la ciudad, se detectó que el conflicto se produce a través del borde, el cual aísla parcialmente el cerro de su contexto. Para encarar la problemática, la estrategia se basó en un plano inclinado que vinculase de manera más amable el perímetro infranqueable de la ladera nororiente y el borde de edificios en el Barrio Lastarria. Este plano se manipuló volumétricamente a fin de generar un accidente geográfico que incorporase programa. Así este programa es el encargado de abrir los límites del cerro y del barrio, generando una especie de fingerjoint donde aparecen relaciones espaciales lo suficientemente potentes para transformar el lugar en un hito de uso.
In search of the relationship between the hill and the city, it was determined that the conflict is produced on the edge, which partially isolates the hill from its context. To address the problem, the strategy was based on an inclined slope that would link in a more friendly manner the impassable perimeter of the northeast slope and the building border of Lastarria. This plane is volumetrically manipulated in order to generate a geographical feature incorporating functional program. Therefore this program is responsible for opening the boundaries of the hill and the neighborhood, creating a kind of finger-joint where spatial relationships are powerful enough to transform the site into a usable landmark.
