inculcate in our students the mindfulness of sustainable and responsible leadership approaches in everything they do.” The idea here is that the topic is “not an add-on to courses” or a final thought, but rather “the first thing you think about” and something that “you integrate into your all your management decision‑making.” Programme initiatives Judson Santos França, a graduate of the school’s master’s degree in international business, recalls how the topic was introduced at the very start of his studies. “I got involved in a sustainability challenge in the induction week, where we tackled challenges in a virtual environment. It was

sizes small, as Hatt explains. “Every year, we recruit between 30 and 40 learners; that’s deliberate because we take a pedagogical approach that focuses on the relationships between learners and faculty members.” Helping students find career opportunities to match their individual interests and values, or “purposeful meaning” as Hatt terms it, is also key. To this end, the programme seeks to “combine an understanding of what their strengths and passions are, what business wants, where they can get a job and also what the world needs,” she says, adding “that’s where the sustainability angle comes into things.
