Visitors from across the region - and even Mayo Clinic patients and families from around the world - experience Rochester’s spirit firsthand through this event. We’ve heard of patients booking their appointments around Thursdays and other groups that make it a point to travel to Rochester to join the party!

How can the business community become involved in the important work Rochester Downtown Alliance does? There are many ways to engage - from partnership opportunities at major events like Social-Ice and Dogs Downtown, co-hosting activations, or applying for a Startup Event Grant to bring your own idea to life. Businesses can also benefit from our marketing reach - highlighting their Downtown presence through our owned media. We’re proud to have built one of the city’s largest social media audiences - an ever-growing platform to share all that makes Downtown vibrant and unique. But that’s just one small piece of our marketing pie – we activate around 25 different marketing assets depending on the story we’re sharing and demographic we need to reach. We always encourage businesses to submit their “events” (can be small, can be a unique offering) to our events page on our website, one of the most visited pages we have. We also encourage direct collaboration: our team is always open to new ideas, connections, and partnerships that strengthen the Downtown experience for everyone. What’s an interesting fact about Rochester Downtown Alliance that most people don’t know? Despite our big presence in the community, we’re a small but mighty team of just three full-time and two part-time staff. Everything from large- scale event planning to day-to-day placemaking and communications is handled by this dedicated group. Also, we’re not a City department! We’re an independent nonprofit funded through a mix of SSD fees, partnerships, earned revenue, and contributions from the City of Rochester and Mayo Clinic. Our success relies on strong relationships and shared community vision. TOGETHER – we’re shaping Downtown Rochester!
