CAPTAIN “CHIP” ARIAS

Captain Arias was officially sworn in during a ceremony at Lompoc City Hall on March 7th, with Chief Kevin Martin and the City Clerk administering the oath of office in the presence of his family and friends. Beginning his journey with the department in June 1999 as a reserve police officer, Captain Arias was hired as a full-time officer in January 2001. Over the past 24 years, his dedication, leadership, and commitment to the community have been unwavering. Throughout his career, Captain Arias has excelled in various roles, including Detective Sergeant and SWAT team member, showcasing his skill, passion, and dedication to justice. Notably, as Detective Sergeant, he handled an unprecedented volume of homicide investigations. Captain Arias is also revered for his commitment to mentorship, consistently investing in the growth and development of his colleagues. The Lompoc Police Department is proud to recognize his impactful legacy, which extends beyond his casework to the officers he has mentored and the community he has diligently served.
