LATERAL PENALTY AREA (RED):
1.Option 1 from above – Play the ball from the previous spot 2.Option 2 from above – Drop the ball behind the penalty area in a straight line from the point the ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area. 3.Drop two club lengths from where the ball crossed the edge of the penalty area, no closer to the hole CART PATH: A player is entitled to relief from any man-made obstructions, such as a cart path or irrigation box. The player may take swing or stance relief from the immovable obstruction at the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole. It is important to take full relief, and be certain the player’s feet are not still on the cart path after dropping. Relief is always taken at the nearest point of full relief, which is not always the “best for playing” point. BUNKERS: If a player is taking relief for an unplayable ball inside a bunker, she has the additional option to drop outside of the bunker on a line going straight back from the hole through the spot of the original ball; two-stroke penalty.
