The BECx team worked with the project team to dis- cuss prior performance is- sues and develop an Owner Project Requirement (OPR) and BECx plan that clearly defined performance metrics and outlined a process to meet or exceed these expectations in the final product. The plan included activities to verify design and construction con- formance with performance expectations through design review, submittal review, on-site performance mockup testing, on-site observations, field performance verification testing, and issue tracking/ resolution. Alongside the architect, the construction manager, and multiple prime trade partners, the BECx team helped the school to achieve LEED Silver Certification in August 2021. Working in concert with all project stakeholders from the very beginning through con- struction yielded the best re- sult by improving energy per- formance, reducing potential health impacts on students, minimizing risks and cost overrun during construction, and ensuring project sched- ule adherence. This strategy helped FCPS to achieve an additional 2 points in LEED v4.0 under Enhanced Commis- sioning - Building Enclosure Commissioning. When working on new proj- ects, the BECx team applies knowledge gained from previ- ous undertakings and imple- ments those lessons learned to create successful outcomes. The process is about under- standing and embracing the risk profile, schedule, budget, and needs of each client to provide on-target building envelope performance without
