When the Lord takes a hand there’s something doing. 2. Ahab had “seen” the multitude, but there was a multitude he had not seen (2 Kings 6:15-17). 3. With a “thus saith the Lord” to back against it was not much to have a Benhadad to buck against. 4. “Thou.” Ahab was the last man to win a victory—so the Lord chose him that His own power might be evi dent. 5. The Lord can do great things with young men if they’ll let Him. 6. With the kings’ help, evidently Ben hadad had drunk drunk. 7. Each man got his man—and so each man should. 8. The horses were sober, so the kings got away. 9. It was drink that slaughtered the Syr ians.
