50 kitchen users/employees, 250 working days where applicable X Energy consumption compared to BRITA C-Tap Dispenser Efficiency on-tap Can our signature hot-and-cold water dispenser really be more energy-efficient than a simple kettle? We’ve put the BRITA Extra C-Tap to the test.

BRITA Extra C-Tap consumes 2.24 kWh/day, which costs £146 per year, including stand-by (Based on usage 10l hot water, 60l cold water per day)* And the BRITA Extra C-Tap doesn’t only dispense hot water – you’ve also got a choice of water types. There’s unchilled and chilled still, and chilled semi- sparkling and sparkling. All on-tap!

Use case refrigerator: 365 days, annual energy consumption of various selected devices (according to Energy Label) = 1.1 kWh/day Use case BRITA Extra C-Tap (medium boiler): 10 l hot water and 60 l cold water + stand-by energy consumption; night mode for 9h = 2.24 kWh/day Use case kettle: 10 l hot water required, due to water wastage (assumption 0.2 l per cup 18 l); 0.1 kWh energy consumption per litre = 1.8 kWh/day Use case coffee machine: Assume that each employee consumes 3 cups of coffee per day = 2.7 kWh/day

We did the sums for a typical office kitchen used by 50 employees, over 250 working days. And the results are clear: a typical kettle consumes 1.8 kWh/day, which costs £108 per year (based on 10l per day requirement for hot water, takes into account wastage so 18l usage per day)*

*assumption: £0.25 per kWh
