God-given responsibility and give their children Christian instruction. As Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer has said, “ Such an organization could be properly called an extension of the Christian home.” We are happy to be able to announce that there is such an organization now in existence in Los Angeles. It was recently organized and is known as the Los Angeles Society for Christian In struction. It is composed of Christians of all evangelical beliefs who endorse the following Statement of Principles 1. The Bible is the infallible Word of God. 2. God as the Creator of the uni verse, and His unfailing providence over the same. 8. The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His substitu tionary atonement by His death on the" cross, His bodily resurrection and as cension, and His personal return. 4. The personality of the Holy Spir it, His ministry of regenerating men, and of sanctifying, comforting ana guiding Christians in accordance with the Scriptures. 5. The creation of man in the image of God, his fall through disobedience, and his opportunity for salvation and eternal life through justification by faith in Christ. 6. The supreme Christian task is to preach the Gospel as a witness to the world, and to build up those who accept Christ as personal Saviour “ unto the measure of the stature o f the fulness of Christ.” Eph. 4:18. 7. Ethics for every phase of life, including Christian stewardship, as based on the Word of God. Included in our membership are such Christian leaders as Dr. 0. P. Gifford, Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dr. F. W.

Farr, Dr. W. P. White, Dr. A. C. Dixon, Dr. French E. Oliver, Dr. T. C. Horton-, Dr. Cortland Myers, Elder W. E. Tres tle, Dr. W. C. Sherman and others, both ministers and laymen. Our organiza tion was endorsed by the World’s Fun damentals Conference by special res olution, June 29, 1922. This youthful society is opening its first school this fall. It will be a four- room school, comprising the first eight grades and the Bible. Christian text hooks will for the most part be used, and the quality of the work will be on a par with that of the public schools. We shall continue to open other schools of Elementary and High School grade as the Society grows and the Lord opens the way. Tuitions will always be kept as low as possible. Any one desiring further information regarding this movement may obtain it from Los Angeles Society for Chris tian Instruction, D. W. Beverly, Gen. Sec.', 823 Loew’s State Bldg., Los An geles, California. OVERHEARD IN AN ORCHARD! “Said the Sparrow to the Robin, I would really like to know, Why these anxious human beings Rush about and worry so; Said the Robin to the Sparrow, . Friend, I think that it must be, That they have no Heavenly Father, Such as cares for you and me.” - .$<&. Jfe jfe ASSURANCE Not hope nor retrospection, Lord, Can give me joy divine, But looking in thy precious Word I learn that Thou art mine. Then let this truth my spirit hold Each moment on thy breast, I find the peace the saints foretold And heaven’s eternal rest. Mrs. E. C. White, 2120^ E. 4th St., Los Angeles.
