Approach.— You see, I have a little bottle here with a picture of a skull and two cross hones. Then the word POI SON is marked on the bottle. Have you ever seen a BEGINNERS bottle marked like AND PRIMARY this? C h a r l e s , Mabel h. Merrill would you t a s t e anything in a bottle marked like this one is marked? No, indeed you would not, and that is just why the people who made the poison marked it so carefully, that people could see and not make any mistake. The poison in this bottle is used to kill gophers that live in the ground and spoil our lawns and gardens. Now, are there any bottles that have liquid in them that is poison, and yet the bottle is not marked? Whiskey is right, Donald; it is poison, but is not marked. It has just a little ppison, not enough to kill right away like the gopher poison, but it is slowly doing its work. It is the alcohol in the whiskey, wine and beer that hurts. Tobacco also has poison in it, and those who smoke take a little poison into their bodies every time they smoke, and lit tle by little it does its deadly work like alcohol. Boys who smoke cannot climb mountains and run or swim, like the boys who do not smoke. It makes their brain dull so they cannot think clearly or study their lessons. Prayer. I/esson Story.— Some boys were taken to a palace in a far-away country by soldiers, who brought them from their own land as captives or prisoners. The king who lived in the palace knew there would be some bright boys among these captives, who could be useful to him, if well trained. These captives Were brought from the land of Israel, where the true God was known, and where the young people were well taken care of and taught. Among those chosen were four boys who loved God, and had taken good care of their bodies. The king gave orders that these young

men should be fed from the palace table with meats and wines so they would grow fat and look well. But these four boys were not willing to eat the rich food and drink the wine. Now, one boy of this four seemed to be the lead er, and his name was Daniel, and he purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s meat or the wine. Daniel and his three friends had been taught that rich food and wine would hurt their bodies, and they remembered their home training. (Finish this intensely interesting and thrilling story, making it real and alive to the boys and girls, emphasizing the importance of purpose of heart with Jesus as our Saviour and guide.) Dan iel and his friends were going' to do the right thing for their bodies, minds and souls at any cost,' and God hon ored them and gave them better knowl edge and wisdom than all the rest. They said, “ We will drink no wine.” I won-. der how many of us want to keep these bodies strong and well, and will take our stand with Daniel that we will not drink anything that contains alcohol. We do not want anything to do with tobacco either. These are good bodies has given us to live in, and He will help us to keep them clean and pure. Closing Prayer.— Dear Lord Jesus, we thank Thee for our bodies, and we ask Thee to help us to always keep them clean for Thee. ; S cie n tific G en tlem en , A tten tio n ! One of the strong opponents of the Darwin theory of evolution is Prof. Arthur Coutiere, famous French scientist and author of numerous biological and medical works. Prehistoric remains in all parts of the world, he asserts, show that not ohly have the hu man being and the ape always been distinct and separate types but that the ape was created after man. Prof. Coutiere thinks that man has always had the gift of speech. z
