HIGH ALUMINA REFRACTORY MORTARS
VITSET 80 Ready mixed form ready to use suitable for setting high alumina bricks and can also be used for dipping bricks, coating and spraying. This material forms a strong air set bond with all grades of refractory bricks whether used as a joint or a render. The material is slightly expansile at 1540ºC ensuring good tight joints with no shrinkage problems at joint lines. It also has very good resistance to slag attack and it is very stable up to 1750ºC. Examples of Applications: Used in steel works and foundries where high temperatures are encountered such as setting high alumina bricks for safety linings in pouring ladles and setting bricks and purging nozzles in continuous casting tundishes. VITSET 85 Ready mixed high alumina refractory mortar with maximum service temperature of 1810ºC. Suitable for higher temperature alloys and treatment vessels. VITSET 90 Ready mixed high alumina refractory mortar developed with high purity and high refractoriness coupled with stability at high temperatures for more specialised applications with alumino-silicate and magnesite refractories. Examples of Applications: Used in setting sliding gate plates, purging nozzles and setting pre-cast shapes.
