after, this man suffered a severe heart attack. After giving him five hypodermics, the Roman Catholic doctor who was called in, could not revive him and expected the end at any moment. He immediately called for a priest to administer the last rites. All the while this dear Jewess was on her knees in the kitchen praying that God would bring her hus

“ But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:18, 19). The above verses were quoted by the Apostle Peter imme

band back to life and spare him until he was saved. Just before the priest came God performed a miracle, and the hus band was revived. Upon arriving, the first question of the priest was, “Were they married in a Roman Catholic church?” Needless to say, the priest had no further duties to perform because God had re stored this one from that severe heart attack. A Jewess’ Prayers Answered Soon after, when our missionaries called again, the husband was very recep tive to the gospel. While the wife of our missionary and the wife of this dear man were in the kitchen praying, our mission ary sitting near the bed pressed him for . a decision for our blessed Lord as Sav iour. As we departed this earnest Jewess sat on the bed with tears in her eyes ask ing God to save him that very moment. Her tears were rewarded as she heard her husband say, “ I do believe, I accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour.” We de sire the prayers of believers for these two.

diately after the lame man was healed. We could wish for ourselves the opportu nity to preach Peter had when the Jewish people marveled at the miraculous healing, telling the nation of Israel that God had showed this by the mouth of all His proph ets, that great and wonderful works should be done in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today as we labor among Jewish people—while we do not perform the heal ing miracles of Peter and John—we do, nevertheless, have a part in the miraculous healing of the souls of Jewish people con taminated by sin. Jewish Y ou th Converted Just a few short weeks ago God’s Holy Spirit worked in a marvelous way to honor our efforts in the Jewish testimony and praise meeting conducted every Sunday in the lower auditorium of the Church of the Open Door. After Jewish converts had glorified God in testimony and the mes sage of the afternoon had been given, the invitation was extended and a Jewish ■young man, nineteen years of age, came

Mr. Daniel R ose, D irector Jewish Department

The Bible Institute of7Los Angeles, of which our Jewish Department is a branch, trains young men and women of all nationalities to be missionaries throughout the whole world, but very little encouragement ordinarily is given Jewish young men and women to prepare themselves to minister among God’s ancient people, Israel. We covet your prayers that God will make it possible for Jewish young people to come as students for the ministry of Jewish Evan gelism. It costs $125.00 to train a student each year. How we would like to see a goodly number of Jewish students come and receive instruction and preparation as Jewish missionaries! May God give you guidance in this matter. If interested, please write for further information regarding our work, and the Christian literature we use to help Jewish people to a knowledge of our blessed Lord Jesus as Saviour.

forward to put his trust and faith in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since that time our missionary visited him in his room, followed by Bible study and prayer. This Jewish young man is engaged in moving picture work, and does mind reading in night clubs. He has already expressed a desire to leave that kind of employment for work in a Chris tian environment. We covet the prayers of Christians in this matter. G od ’ s Pow er Manifested We praise God also for the conversion of a middle-aged Jewess who gave a glorious testimony in our Jewish meet ings. Her husband did not believe in God, and ridiculed her new-found joy in our blessed Lord. Our missionary and his wife visited him, but went away feeling Satan had him bound so that he would not receive the truth. Shortly
