Beginning with select North American Ash, Cherry, Maple, or Walnut hardwoods, each Philharmonic USA Solid Shell is shaped using old-world steam-bent crafting techniques and milled to a smooth, uniform 8mm thickness and combined with Solid Maple reinforcement rings. All 13x2.5 shells are uniquely 10mm thick without reinforcement rings. MADE IN THE USA: Each shell is CNC drilled, hand-finished, and assembled at Pearl’s Music City Custom Shop in Nashville, TN. Each drum is adorned with standard Philharmonic appointments in elegant Nickel-plated hardware including Classic Tube lugs, Die-Cast and Single Flange hoops, and the industry-leading SR505 Triad Silent Strainer with wrap-around snare materials for precise tuning and legendary performance.

Philharmonic PHX African Mahogany concert snare drums bring a Classic and Iconic American Sound to the Philharmonic Series and are as equally beautiful to look at as they are to play. PHX features the new SR505 strainer system with a combination of coated cable, Synthetic gut, stainless steel, and light cable snare materials for a whisper-soft response, and a warm projecting tone that will be heard in the largest venues. All PHX snare drums feature fully rounded bearing edges on both top and bottom for a fundamentally focused response and easy tuning with a variety of head styles.
