1.3 What is family violence Family violence is a violation of human rights and is unacceptable in any form. The Family Violence Protection Act 2008 (FVPA) recognises that family violence extends beyond physical violence and may involve sexual, emotional, psychological, or economic abuse. In Victoria, we understand family violence as an ongoing pattern of coercive controlling , or violent behaviour
that occurs in current or past family, domestic or intimate partner relationships…This can include not only physical abuse but an array of power and control tactics , such as direct or indirect threats, sexual, emotional and psychological torment, economic control, property damage, social isolation, withholding of children and behaviour which causes a person to live in fear. Victoria Police recognise there may be threats to manipulate the police response in an effort to cause further harm to the victim, which can include threats to have children removed, threats to have the victim deported, threats to have the victim charged, threats to have the victim’s employment terminated, or threats to prevent the victim from accessing benefits they are entitled to. According to the Police LEAP file, Gippsland Police investigated my 2019 report to Western Victorian police of a workplace bullying and harassment incident by interviewing the accused, a 'friend' of the accused, the instigator of the incident, an employee and my employee sons. However, they did not interview me, the victim, even though Western Victorian Police had provided my contact details specifically for that purpose.
Only one of the two incident participants that initiated the Western Victoria Police Application for a family violence order to protect me and my property faced any police action. The instigator of the incident provided his law firm to the accused. Both parties and their lawyers have given false and misleading statements to the court and police. They have embarked on a retaliatory campaign to destroy me and take over my assets. Police have arrested and charged me six times, based on the false information given to the court and in 17 statements made after I became a protected person on a police application.
