Technological Assessment Maggies Computer Tech Assessment 31 May 2021 My name is Nicholas James Shaw, I hold a current Victorian Private Security Individual Registration with the Activity of Security Advisor #952-517-01S expiring 10th of October 2021, I met with Maggie on the 31st of May 2021 to conduct a Technological examination of her devices and accounts, whilst conducting the assessment the following observations and disclosures were noted; Technological Facilitated Abuse * I conducted an examination of Maggie’s computer (identified in the photographs above) with the intention of identifying any Technological facilitated abuse, disrupting any identified abuse (if safe to do so) and providing education surrounding safe online and technological practices with a context surrounding the abuse that can be suffered by victim/survivors in the Domestic/Family abuse cycle of violence. * Whilst checking Maggie’s computer she made several disclosures to me surrounding her circumstances, I have previously met with Maggie to conduct a check of her devices and her disclosures about her circumstances were consistent with what she has told me in the past without deviation. Regain Control Of Flickr Account * Maggie said that recently she had tried to regain control of her Flickr account, and she had changed the password and logged into the account, she says that following this that she has been arrested for breaching an Intervention Order condition prohibiting her from posting about a protected person. * It should be noted that in the previous examination some time ago that Maggie had been locked out of several accounts and she had been taking steps with limited internet and support to try to gain access to these accounts again. * Maggie said she had collected a large amount of information such as interactions and screenshots of documents and online activity on her accounts that she is compiling to use in defence of matters brought against her in court, she was able to display quite extensive word documents with notes and screenshots and excel spreadsheets to support this assertion. Flickr Uploader Application * I noted during my examination that the programs that start with the computer included the Flickr uploader application (shown in photographs above and verified by checks) and that Maggie has no control over this turning on with the computer without having the technical understanding on how to disable this function. * Given the disclosures made by Maggie during the examination and my observations of the computer examined and of the programs on the computer, I hold the opinion that it is more likely than not that Maggie has changed her password on Flickr and in updating this password it has triggered an automatic upload of images via the automated uploader on the computer of the images
