smiles is an absolute must-see if you can time your visit to coincide with it (mid August). The Enga Show (early August) and Goroka Show (late September) also offer spectacular sights. Be impressed by the varying

architecture used throughout the region and enjoy the cooler climate of the mountains. Temperatures range from 10°C at night to 20°C during the day. Southern, Western and Enga Provinces in the Highlands region are prone to intertribal

disturbances. Remember these tribal conflicts are not aimed or targeted at foreigners. We advise you to obtain up-to- date reports from your embassy or consulate before and during your stay in the Highlands.
