Spot-ing Melanoma Early: A Kid's Guide to Self Screening

Spot helps children check their skin for new or unusual spots. This tool will help build life-long healthy habits.

Be like Spot the Dog: checking your skin once a month will help you learn all about it. You might notice birthmarks, freckles, moles or other spots. If you find an area that is changing in size or color, itches or bleeds, make sure to show it to an adult at home or school. You may need to have it checked out by your doctor.

Look at your hands, nails, fingers, feet and between the toes!

Look at your legs, back, shoulders and bottom! Use a mirror if you need to!

Look at your chest and belly!

Look at your face, head, neck and ears! Make sure to check under your hair, too. Use a mirror and a comb or brush if you need to!
