Ants I think that it is very sweet To see ants stopping when they meet, To say a pleasant word or two. It is a friendly thing to do. Then they wave, and on they go, Walking, passing to and fro; Working, chatting all the day, Busy little ants are they. God made ants, and told us to Watch and see the things they do. These poems are from Martha Snell Nicholson’s book “Family of God’\ (Moody Press). was soon to appear, namely, the Bright and Morning Star. Then he went into the Audience Chamber of the King Himself where he heard and saw the King from four differ ent standpoints (the four Gospels). On he went into the Executive Cham ber of the Book of Acts where the Holy Spirit was doing His office work. Then he went into the Correspond ence Room where he saw Paul and Peter, James and John and Jude, all sitting at different desks writing let ters (the Epistles). At length, he came to the Throne Room itself, which was all resplendent with the glories of Revelation. After this hasty tour, he used to linger in' and out of each room until he had made him self thoroughly acquainted with the contents, always seeing some new beauty and comprehending more and more of the character of the Builder, God. — Selected. e

Yes, I think That hollyhocks beside the wall Are the loveliest of all! of Abraham, Moses, David and all those other great men. Then he went into the Music Room of the Psalms, where the Spirit swept all the chords of human nature, from the low wail ing note of Psalm 51 to the high ex ultant note of Psalm 24. Next he went into the Business Office of Prov erbs, where sharp, quick, business like orders were dispatched. On he went into the Chapel of Ecclesiastes, where the sound of the preacher’s voice was heard. He passed into the Conservatory of the Song of Solo mon, which was fragrant with the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley, and all the sweet perfumes of Lebanon. Into the Observatory of the Prophets he went next, where he saw telescopes of different sizes (the Ma jor and the Minor Prophets) all point ing to different stars (events in the future), and yet they were all brought to bear upon one Star that o u r t h r o u g . i i t i n

Animal Friends

Animals are good to us, And do their work without a fuss: The gentle cow that gives us milk, The little worm that helps spin silk. The hens lay eggs for us to eat, And scratch about with busy feet. The bees put honey in a comb. To get enough how far they roam! The big gray horses work all day And never get a cent of pay. Yet I love Fido best of all, And he won’t work, he just plays ball! T here was a certain young man who grew up with a reverence for the Bible, but no real love for it. He admired it as he would some ancient temple, and compared it to a temple of truth, composed of thirty-nine blocks of granite with a broad base at Genesis, and twenty-seven pillars of alabaster, towering into a lofty dome at Revelation. But this temple seemed tn him cold and lifeless, as if there was no tenant within—until one day he heard the voice of the King from within, saying, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). He resolved to make a tour of the temple with the Holy Spirit as his Guide. He entered at the Portico of Genesis and passed through the Art Gallery of the Old Testament histori cal books, where he saw the portraits EXECUT IVE W AN TED m For Christian Organization in Southern California.
