Une victoire de 6 à 2 pour les Vikings

Carl Faucher (Choquette, Millett, Plante), Sébas- tien Plante (Mantha, Tye Terrance), Harri- sonWood (Mathieu Galipeau, SeanDavid), Olivier Castleman (Lefebvre, Collette) et Ethan Wensink (Wood) sont à l’origine des sept buts comptés lors de ce match. Regard sur les joueurs La vedette de l’équipe est sans aucun
doute le capitaine Sébastien Plante qui do- mine le pointage avec 67 points. Le joueur de 18 ans a récolté ses points grâce à 32 buts et 35 passes. Il est suivi de près par Carl Faucher, qui cumule pour sa part 62 points, dont 21 buts et 41 passes. Quatre autres joueurs de l’équipe ont aussi plus de 30 points à leur fiche. Ces joueurs, soit Oliver Castleman, Harrison Wood, Maxime Choquette et Sean David,
ont respectivement 41, 37, 36 et 30 points. Les deux prochains matchs des Vikings auront lieu à l’aréna J.R Brisson, le 17 dé- cembre, contre les Rebels de Char-Lan et le 20 décembre contre les Rideaus deWestport. L’équipe de Casselman sera ensuite en congé pour les fêtes, avant de reprendre leur routine dans leur aréna, le 7 janvier prochain, contre les Hawks de Winchester.
Les Vikings de Casselman ont battu les Flyers de Prescott par la marque de 6 à 2, le 12 décembre dernier, à Prescott. Les Vikings ont marqué leur six points lors des deux premières périodes, s’assurant d’une avance confortable très tôt dans le match. Casselman a marqué deux points dans les 10 premières minutes de la partie. Maxime Choquette, aidé de Carl Faucher et Sébastien Plante, ainsi que Ethan Wen- sink, avec les passes de Jérémie Lefebvre et Mathieu Galipeau, sont à l’origine de ces deux premiers filets. Carl Faucher a clos la première période avec un troisième but, et ce, en désavantage numérique. Il a été aidé de Plante et d’Evan Mantha. Le total était alors de 3 à 1 en leur faveur. La deuxième période a été caractérisée par la dominance des Vikings. Faucher a compté deux des trois buts de cette période, aidé de Plante et Choquette. Matt Clément, en avantage numérique, a compté le dernier point de l’équipe, avec l’aide de KyleMillett et Harrison Wood. La troisième période s’est déroulée dans le calme alors qu’un seul point a étémarqué, et ce, par les Flyers. Lematch s’est donc ter- miné à l’avantage des Vikings qui ont ainsi ajouté une victoire à leur fiche qui ne cesse de s’agrandir. Ils ont d’ailleurs remporté leur match

haven’t had any scoring difficulties over the course of the whole season, didn’t manage to beat Eagles goalie Miguel Laroche once. The home team quickly took advantage of it, Eagles forward Mickael Grenier finding the back of Embrun’s net. The Eagles’ offence, which had in the past been stopped by the Panthers, took over in the second period, scoring thrice. Mathieu Clermont, Pier-Luc Viau and Gabriel Demers all registered a goal, while the visiting team managed to score twice, with goals from Daniel Cogan and Bernie Murdock. The Eagles’ forward Nicolas Pharand scored a goal in the third period, whereas the Panthers rallied back, trying to fight off a defeat. They scored twice, with goals by Cody Lavictoire and Justin Raymond, but it simply wasn’t enough to seal the deal. The Panthers lost 5 to 4.
For any other team, it might be an accep- table outcome, one win and one loss. But the Embrun Panthers isn’t your average team. The local club was handed its first loss in quite some time on December 13. But before it happened, the Panthers made mincemeat of the Vankleek Hill Cougars, on December 11, at the Embrun arena. The Panthers’ offense quickly overwhel- med the visiting Cougars, as the Embrun players recorded three goals in the first period, by Tommy Olney, Jesse Lavictoire and Tyler Jodoin.The Cougars onlymanaged to beat Panthers goaltender Zach Holland once, with a goal by Patrick Landry. The second period saw the Embrun players maintain their offensive attack,
The third period sealed the deal for the visiting team. Although Cougars Hugo Blan- chard and assistant captain Fred Leger both got one goal, the Embrun players scored yet again three goals of their own. Daniel Cogan, Nathan Bols and Jodoin recorded a goal. The Panthers won the game 9 to 4. A bitter rivalry The St-Isidore Eagles were thirsty for re- venge, having lost several matches to Em- brun over the past months. The team faced their bitter rivals at the St-Isidore arena. That’s where something truly odd happe- ned in the first period. The Panthers, who
