Certification Requirements: To receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard certification all participants must: 1. Complete the American Red Cross Online Lifeguarding Course Presentation and pass the online First Aid/CPR/AED Exam and submit proof of completion. 2. Pass all course prerequisites. 3. Attend all class sessions in their entirety. 4. Demonstrate competency in all required skills and activities. 5. Demonstrate competency in the three final skill scenarios. 6. Correctly answer 80% of the questions on the final written exam. AMERICAN RED CROSS LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
To ensure physical distancing is occurring within the class and the surrounding area, all participants in levels 1-3 must have a parent/ guardian/caregiver in the water to help enforce physical distancing from others and aid with skills being taught. Lesson Ratios Instructor to student ratios will be closely monitored to ensure the safety of all participants and quality programming. class ratios have been reduced to the following: • Parent/Child Levels 2-3: 1 instructor: 5 pairs • Levels 1-3: 1 instructor: 2 pairs • Levels 4, 5 and Adult: 1 instructor: 4 participants
*Pairs indicated will require a parent/guardian/care-giver in the water to help aid with skills of swimmer and enforce physical distancing from other participants. Program Length Swim lesson sessions are four or six weeks in length, meeting once a week. Class lengths have been changed to better align with facility time blocks to ensure cleaning/disinfecting is occurring between each class. • Parent/Child Levels 2-3 and Preschool Levels 1-3: 30 minutes with 15 minutes of exploration • Learn to Swim Levels 1 - 5 and Adult: 45 minutes *During exploration time, parent/guardian/caregiver will be able to work on skills learned or play games with their swimmer within their designated class space. SWIM TEAM INFORMATION
The Dublin Dolphins Swim Team is a recreational summer team that competes in the N.E.W. League, a local summer swim league. The Dolphin Teams practice in the mornings at either the North or South Community pools. Members of the team are required to have a Dublin Community Pool season pass and to be City of Dublin residents or Dublin City School District residents. There are weekly competitions with other NEW league teams on Wednesday nights. More information is available at www.dublindolphins.com. The Dublin Community Swim Team Sea Dragons is recreational swim team that operates under the banner of USA Swimming. The Sea Dragon program runs year round with two major seasons; short course and long course. Members of the team must live within the Dublin School District. Placement is determined by ability and age. More information is available at www.dublinseadragons.org .
