People often say that if you want things done right, you have to do them yourself. However, there are many tasks and actions in life we can’t do on our own without knowledge and experience. Most people wouldn’t dare to try to build their new home on their own, so they hire professional help to bring their dream home to fruition. My name is Matt Mann, and I am the lead builder for SR Homes. I love putting time and effort into making quality homes for our buyers and do everything I can to ensure they finish the buying process with a smile. My enjoyment of building dates back to when I was a kid. My stepdad had a framing crew, and I would work alongside them during the summer months, toting lumber

of the day, everything I do at work is for the benefit of the homebuyers. I want to turn over a good product to them and ensure they are happy with their decision. When you look at your new home, I want you to see the time and effort we put into creating something high-quality. You should see quality in every detail of your home. I like to tell people that builders can build a house in 90 days or 150 days, but you’re going to see a difference in quality. Make sure you choose the option that will last and lead to prolonged happiness! “When you look at your new home, I want you to see the time and effort we put into creating something high-quality.” Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors. Whenever I get a free weekend, I go deer or duck hunting, fishing, or camping with my family. There’s just something special about relaxing in the great outdoors! Finally, I do everything I can to care for you during the homebuilding and homebuying process. I like to handle the warranty side of things for my buyers and stay in the

and cleaning up job sites. It really felt like I was part of the team, even though I was just a kid. Once I entered high school, I expanded my knowledge through a construction class. I enjoyed it so much that I took it through all four years of high school. After finishing high school, I officially entered the workforce and got a job with a local electrical company. I learned so much about electrical work in this role, and it helps me ensure everything is perfect with my current projects. I worked that job for some time before moseying away from the construction industry. Around 10 years ago, I returned to the industry when I started working as a warranty tech for a company based out of Alpharetta. I worked my way up to builder before becoming lead builder, where I built an entire neighborhood.

loop as they settle into their new home, as I can help resolve any problems that may arise. When you work with SR Homes, you can expect quality, care, and attention to detail! –Matt Mann

About four years ago, I had an opportunity to move a little closer to home and work with SR Homes. I jumped on board and have been going strong ever since! One of the main reasons I love working in construction is that no two days are the same. New problems arise daily that we must overcome and devise solutions for. I enjoy putting out fires and finding solutions. At the end

Stick With It! Thanks to peel-and-stick wallpaper, adding a splash of personality to your walls has never been easier. But while the promise of a mess-free application sounds perfect, missteps can quickly turn your DIY into a “Why-Did-I-Try?” moment. Whether accenting one wall or transforming an entire room, these expert tips will help you decorate with professional skill without the stress.

YOUR NO-STRESS GUIDE TO PEEL-AND-STICK WALLPAPER GATHER THE RIGHT TOOLS Gather your gear: a measuring tape, a level, a smoothing tool, a utility knife with a fresh blade, a pencil, and a step ladder. These trusty tools will help you line things up, cut like a pro, and avoid mid-project meltdowns. CREATE A GUIDE LINE Measure the width of your wallpaper panel and mark it on the wall with a pencil. Use a level to draw a vertical line from the ceiling to the baseboard. This guide will keep your first panel perfectly straight, critical for seamlessly applying the rest of your wallpaper! MATCH PATTERNS CAREFULLY For a cohesive look, match the pattern of each new panel with the one before it. Slightly overlap the edges and use the smoothing tool to eliminate bubbles and create a seamless appearance. ASK FOR HELP Although peel-and-stick wallpaper is designed for DIY use, having an extra set of hands can make a major difference. A second person can hold the panel in place while you smooth and trim, ensuring a faster and more accurate application. With the right tools and patience, peel-and-stick wallpaper can be a simple way to transform your space. Take your time, follow these steps, and admire the fresh new look you’ve created!

MEASURE WITH CARE Before impulse buying, carefully measure your wall space and determine how many panels you’ll need. Be sure to order slightly more than you think you’ll use — running out of material mid- project is one of the most common (and frustrating) DIY missteps. PREP YOUR WALL Start with a clean surface. Use a damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or oils from the wall and allow it to dry completely. A clean surface helps the wallpaper adhere properly and prevents premature lifting.

Easy Steps to Reclaim Your Space Declutter Like You Mean It

DETERMINE WHAT NEEDS TO GO. Once you have a place to store your items, figure out what you don’t need sitting out at all times. Go room to room, removing anything unnecessary for daily life, doesn’t bring you joy, or creates a mess. You don’t have to do it all at once. This can be a gradual process, clearing one room a week or whatever works best for your schedule.

If you’ve lived in the same place for longer than a couple of years, you know how quickly your rooms, countertops, and drawers can become cluttered. Over the months, we bring in new knick-knacks, tools, and other small items that take up valuable space in our homes. This makes it challenging to move around, find things when needed, and create comfortable living spaces. It’s not always easy to declutter. You may not want to throw anything out, or you could grow concerned that you’ll need the items and don’t want to stache them out of sight. However, decluttering your physical space can clear your mental space while making your home much more appealing to anyone visiting. Here are out top three decluttering tips. INVEST IN STORAGE SOLUTIONS. It’s hard to declutter if you have nowhere to store your items. While you can put everything in drawers, cabinets, and closets, you’re just relocating your clutter. You need to find permanent or semi-permanent solutions for everything you don’t regularly use or need. Home improvement stores sell totes of all sizes, which can be incredibly beneficial for storing items. You just need to keep them in your attic, garage, or somewhere else out of sight to ensure your home isn’t cluttered with totes! You may also want to create a list explaining what you’ve put in each tote.

MAINTAIN YOUR EFFORTS. Decluttering can feel like a big project when you first start, but if you keep your home decluttered, you’ll never have to go through it again. After your initial decluttering efforts, commit to walking through your house daily and decluttering. With time, it will become a new habit you won’t even think twice about!

FOOD, FRIENDS, AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS Housewarming Done Right

Moving into a new home is a big deal and often requires hard work, time, and effort. Once all is said and done, you want to celebrate to your heart’s content, and what better way to do so than by throwing a party? Housewarming parties have been around since medieval times, but throwing the perfect one is not as easy as inviting your friends and stopping at the store for a case of soda. You need to plan ahead if you want to throw a party that will make you the talk of the neighborhood.

small and intimate? Then you probably don’t need more than 10–15 people. If you want it to be the event of the season, you’re looking at closer to 25–30. Start with the people closest to you, such as friends, parents, and other family members, before expanding beyond your comfort zone. Consider inviting your new neighbors, as this can be an excellent opportunity to get to know your new community! You should also specify if you want kids to attend. PROVIDE FOOD When people come to a party, they expect to eat and drink — don’t let them leave disappointed! Figure out the best option for the group you’ve invited. If it’s within budget, consider ordering catering from a local favorite, but you can also host

a barbecue or cook some of your favorites to share with guests. Another option is to make it a potluck, but you have to do extra coordinating to ensure everyone brings something to share! AVOID COMMON MISTAKES While it might be your party, you don’t want to do anything that upsets or offends your guests. While bringing housewarming gifts is a nice gesture, you should never require your guests to give gifts. Keep your decorations minimal to show off your new abode, but don’t brag. Don’t promote your business, exclusively converse with your closest friends, or have too many alcoholic drinks — you want to make everyone feel welcome!

Here are three tips to ensure your housewarming party is a smashing success.

MAKE A GUEST LIST Your guest list will entirely depend on the atmosphere of your event. Do you want something

Fruits and Veggies That Reach New Heights

Vine and Dandy Help Your Vertical Garden Soar Vertical gardening is all about going up, not out — a space-saving, eye- catching way to grow your favorite fruits and veggies. It looks great, makes harvesting easier, and keeps your produce clean and happy. Lucky for you, vertical gardening can produce a variety of tasty harvests! TOMATOES With a bit of support from a trellis, these juicy beauties will grow tall and proud. Pick the indeterminate varieties and enjoy a tomato parade all season long. CUCUMBERS Grow them up a trellis, and you’ll get straight, crisp, dirt-free cukes — perfect for salads or pickles and easy to pluck without scavenging in the dirt. SQUASH Lighter varieties like zucchini or acorn squash climb exceptionally well! Just give these squash a little extra support and watch them rise. MELONS Believe it or not, melons can go vertical! All they need is a strong trellis and a fruit hammock (yes, that’s a thing).
