Moving into a new home is a big deal and often requires hard work, time, and effort. Once all is said and done, you want to celebrate to your heart’s content, and what better way to do so than by throwing a party? Housewarming parties have been around since medieval times, but throwing the perfect one is not as easy as inviting your friends and stopping at the store for a case of soda. You need to plan ahead if you want to throw a party that will make you the talk of the neighborhood.

a barbecue or cook some of your favorites to share with guests. Another option is to make it a potluck, but you have to do extra coordinating to ensure everyone brings something to share! AVOID COMMON MISTAKES While it might be your party, you don’t want to do anything that upsets or offends your guests. While bringing housewarming gifts is a nice gesture, you should never require your guests to give gifts. Keep your decorations minimal to show off your new abode, but don’t brag. Don’t promote your business, exclusively converse with your closest friends, or have too many alcoholic drinks — you want to make everyone feel welcome!
