Helloooo Alpaca Friends and Welcome! This marks 17 years of this special weekend and aside from the Parade of Champions is the longest running private event in the industry. We are so grateful for your attendance and participation with us. We host it but it is all about you! Our passion for the success of others in this incredible industry is second to none and we prove that year after year. Our curriculum has been advanced for the last several years so this year we have decided to go back to the basics. Check the schedule in the catalog to see what’s on the agenda. This years EDU weekend will be very practical and, on the farm, useful. As always, we will have a great time, learn a little or a lot, eat well, socialize well, and generally go home smarter than when we arrived, sometimes with an extra pound or two! 😊 The weather this time of year is normally ideal. Expect highs in the mid 80’s to lower 90’s and lows in the mid 40’s to lower 50’s so a light jacket or sweater is prudent. The World of alpacas has been very busy since we saw you last. Many travelled to Peru for the International Alpaca Fiesta (only happens every four years) and celebrated the “Year of the Camelid” Our own Amanda had the honor to judge along side some of the most respected judges in Peru at the Fiesta, an experience bar none, she would be happy to share

some of her experiences. At EDU we welcome our Peruvian guests and learn about the amazing work through non profits, Quechua Benefit & Arte Michell, Peru helping the Andean farmers and education to the children. March 2025 we saw the World Alpaca Conference in Germany, a fantastic event bringing breeders & presenters together internationally. Now the amazing opportunity to attend the 2025 Education with a Destination, in Central Oregon. We are proud to offer to you as it belongs to you all and your passion for the alpaca. And again, this year we host The Destination Live Animal Auction. It should be a great sale and a fun afternoon. The auction happens here but couldn’t be accomplished without the attention and guidance of Tim and Teresa Vincent of Celebrity Sales. They work their tails off to host a first-rate event for all of us and they always succeed. We are so blessed to have their help. Crescent Moon’s Paulinus is an absolute gem! He just has it all! His stunning head is the first thing you see before you move to his thick and compact frame and exceptional bone substance. He is well covered and to say he is easy to handle is almost an understatement. His fleece is dense, I mean really dense, and when its shorn it comes off in this perfect blanket that feels like a mattress as it lays there on the shearing room floor. Over and over the AOA Judges recognized this in the show ring as he won 12 Championships and 3 Reserve Championships along with 5 Judges Choice Awards and the 2023 AOA Fawn Male National Championship. In 2023 his winning ways also earned him the distinction of the #2 High Point Male coming all the way from the west coast and in 2022 he earned the #6 High Point Male placing. The Dam of Paulinus is Crescent Moon’s 2nd Hand Rose, a cornerstone here. But the story needs to start with her dam, Crescent Moon’s Posie who was the 2005 AOBA Light Female National Champion. Posie, was so impressive that at the end of the show, the judge came back to our stalls to have a look at her one more time. I think that had we had a Judges Choice Award back then, I dare say Posie would have been in the running! Back to 2nd Hand Rose whose progeny are revered by us here and Paulinus tops that incredible list of offspring.
