Job Description

Position: Senior Consultant – Net Zero Carbon (NZC)

Summary We are looking for a senior consultant to join our team to design and deliver energy and carbon management and reduction plans, decarbonisation and other net-zero carbon solutions for organisations, workplaces buildings and their associated infrastructure. We aim to design and deliver zero carbon solutions for organisations which enhance workplace wellbeing, performance and productivity as well as reduce energy use, carbon emissions and operational costs. LCMB is fifteen years old this year, with a strong track record, established client relationships and ambitious growth plans. The LCMB team work with leading Higher Education Institutions such as King’s College London, Birkbeck University of London, NHS organisations such as Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust and leading private sector organisations such as National Express, Pinewood Studios, Universal Music Group and Karcher. LCMB improves our customers workplace, buildings and estate performance and productivity through consultancy, project management and hands-on-support that delivers: • Improved staff wellbeing, performance and productivity. • Reduced costs, energy, consumption and carbon emissions. • Enhanced and boosted hard and soft FM performance. • Successful capital projects on time and on budget. As a Senior Consultant, you will collaborate closely with our world class clients to identify improvement opportunities, develop tailored energy and carbon reduction measures, decarbonisation plans, and guide the implementation of sustainable initiatives for existing and new buildings, along with their associated infrastructure such as EV charging, renewal energy solutions etc. Your knowledge, practical design experience and expertise in energy management and reduction, net-zero solutions, renewable energy, and environmental regulations, will be vital in helping our clients to achieve their decarbonisation goals and transition to a net zero carbon future. Job Overview In this role, you will: • Support our clients to manage, report and reduce their energy use and carbon emissions. • Engage with New clients that have approached LCMB via the marketing campaigns we run through the year. • Direct and encourage the NZC team to smarter ways of working. This will involve report management, process mapping and customer feedback.

• You will likely be a Chartered Energy Manager or Chartered Environmentalist, or professional working towards your chartered status. • Managing and developing a team. • Ability to confidently present technical solutions to a technical and client audience. • Passion for sustainability and a strong commitment to driving positive environmental impact through the built environment. • Professional qualification and/or demonstrable experience in energy management, mechanical engineering, building services, or related fields. • Prior experience in managing energy budgets and designing carbon reduction solutions and programmes. • Excellent knowledge of decarbonisation technologies, systems, and components (e.g., heat pumps, PV). • Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, trends and guidelines related to energy and carbon reduction, energy reporting, and sustainability. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, translating technical data into actionable recommendations. • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within a fast-paced, multi- faceted team. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. • A passion for self-development and growth. • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients’ carbon footprints, energy usage, and sustainability practices, identifying areas for improvement and developing decarbonisation and net-zero carbon strategies for organisations scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. • Create energy and carbon reduction invest to save plans, Net Zero Carbon Strategies, including Green Plans and Carbon Foot printing (Scope 1, 2, and 3). • Develop technical and costed invest to save solution to reduce energy use and carbon emissions. Experience in dealing with Salix and PSDS funding would be particularly useful. • Collaborate with sustainability experts and data scientists to develop innovative decarbonisation solutions, optimising design through digital technology, simulation, and energy modelling. • Gathering data and completing ESOS reports, EPCs and DECs. • Analyse building infrastructure systems to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable enhancements. • Work with external partners and suppliers to select and integrate appropriate technologies for improved environmental performance. • Develop technical specifications and standards for heating installations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. • Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and performance assessments for energy and carbon reduction, decarbonisation, and net-zero projects. • Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders on heating design, energy efficiency, net-zero, and sustainability best practices. • Support the development of sustainability strategies, policies, and initiatives based on engineering insights and recommendations. • Developing and presenting costed sales proposal to clients. Qualifications and skills • You are likely to have an energy management, engineering, or sustainability background with a very strong understanding of how to operate and minimise energy and carbon use in buildings and estates.

Location: Based from our office in Adderbury with occasional work from home or client sites

Reports to: Director of Operations
