Restructuring

Stock levels of each product are at maximum capacity

0

Cedar Creek was acquired to serve the US market However, to better serve the local market, Selenis initiated a three-phase investment plan Currently, Cedar Creek is under line restructuring and reconfiguration, being able in phase 1/3 to: • Produce 12,500,000 lbs/year • Produce PETG reins including PCR content from chemical recycling (as in Portugal) In the meantime, Selenis has created and is operating a lean logistic hub operation, that supplies North America as a local supplier with all its advantages

1

Customer issues an order to Selenis North America

The ordered product is loaded from the hub to any means of transport, and delivered straight away

2

Selenis’ factories in Europe produce the order to keep previous stock levels

Cedar Creek, USA - Update

Whilst improving production facilities, the current logistic setup allows to:

1

Total silo capacity of 7,900,000 lbs

Deliver to customer premises at every means of transport: rail cars; silo trucks, gaylords and super sacs 2

Achieve commitments on recycled content Meet 2030 target of at least 30% recycled content set by the single-use plastics directive (European Union) Accomplish ambitious waste reduction goals

To Selenis, recycling PET is about creating a valuable manufacturing feedstock that can be reprocessed and used as a raw material in the production of specialty copolyesters.

Comparing virgin and recycled PET 1

Life cycle analyses have examined energy requirements and environmental impacts of producing both recycled PET (rPET) and new, virgin material (VPET). Results show that the production of rPET pellets has significantly better results for the environment than that of VPET in almost every impact category measured. The life cycle studies help to quantify the environmental benefit that comes from recycling PET.

Molecular recycling

Leading the way with a revolutionary technology. Molecular recycling at Selenis upcycles waste into new polymers with the highest value and no

At Selenis we create an infinite ability to recycle waste into ”new” raw material.

Our molecular recycling process

Selenis Eco Resins

Virgin raw Materials + PCR

Polymer autoclave

Melt filtration

Monomer

The Selenis process recovers monomers through molecular recycling. Glycolysis is used to break-up PET waste and reduce it to its polymer building blocks—called monomers. Next, they are reintroduced to the value chain as recycled polyester raw materials.

What is unique about Selenis breaking-through technology is that we combine the recycled PET with virgin raw material at specific dosages , according to production throughput and desired percentage of recycled content, resulting in the production of new polyesters with high levels of PCR.

Benefits of molecular recycling

Removal of solid contaminants during transfer of the monomer between the

recycling due to low melt viscosity of the monomer.

Extraction of most volatile contaminants During the polycondensation process, that takes place in the polymer autoclave. In the course of the melt phase, the batch is submitted to a high vacuum level, below 1 mbara, for a significant period of time. Improved properties Final products have better overall properties when compared to mechanical recycling and no thermal history.

Recycled content certificate

Selenis Eco Resins contain PCR content certified by Recyclass.
