PRINTING United Digital Experience has announced that more than 20 major global product launches are scheduled to take place over the 14 days of the jam-on- line event. Major OEMs and suppliers are preparing to launch new technology on a worldwide stage for the first time in 2020. Attendees can expect to see new technology from Canon, FujiFilm, Heidelberg, HP, Ko- dak, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Rochester Software Asso- ciates (RSA), Roland DGA, Standard Finishing Systems, Xeikon, and more.A number of PRINTING United Dig- ital Experience participants have additionally signed on for PRINTING United 2021, taking place in-person in rlando, Florida, next October. Nestlé On Track To Meet Sustainable Packaging Goal Nestlé SA has increased the share of recyclable or reusable packaging for its products to 87 percent,mak- ing progress toward its 100 percent goal by 2025. Regularly cited by environmental groups such as Greenpeace as one of the top plastic polluters, the food giant has vowed to reduce its use of new plastics by a third by 2025 and spend up to $2.85 billion to boost recycled plastics. “Packaging plays an essential role in preserving the integrity and safety of our food,” Head of Opera- tions Magdi Batato told reporters in a virtual briefing last week. The Swiss-based company said it recently launched a refillable system for pet food in Chile allow- ing deliveries to consumers without extra packaging. Plastic waste caused by takeaway food containers and online delivery packaging has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as more people ordered food and groceries online. Eliminating packaging is one as- pect of Nestlé’s strategy, while another is replacing plastic with more sustainable materials. Nestlé,which is already selling Kit Kat chocolate bars in paper packaging, said its engineers had developed a new kind of recyclable paper to wrap Maggi bouillon cubes that will soon be launched in France.
