MARK FREEMAN Scholarship Mark Freeman began taking colts from Freeman Ranch to Lamar Community College around 1989. From close friends, Mark heard about the program and the important work they were doing and eagerly sent in an application that was later accepted to send Colts to the college. Due to Mark’s passion for his family ranch and its already existing horse program, he knew getting involved with LCC, the Rodeo Team and the HTM program was something he wanted to do very early on. Later that year, Mark took five colts in the Spring and five colts in the Fall, which began the start of Freeman Ranch’s involvement in the program. Mark says now the newly formed Legacy Sale goes hand-in-hand with the horse program. Mark proudly served on the Advisory Board for over 20 years. We are honored to continue the Mark Freeman Scholarship to acknowledge all Mark did for our programs and students. Commission from all horses noted with the Mark Freeman Scholarship will be used to fund this scholarship. This includes lots 2, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, and 32. Mark Freeman was no doubt a significant part in the Legacy created in the LCC Horse Programs.
