WELCOME Lamar Legacy Horse Sale
We would like to thank everyone for your support of the Lamar Community College Legacy Horse Sale. In the 1970s, a committee of ranchers came together to develop what would become these nationally recognized programs. Today, we have Horse Training and Management and Equine Business Management programs. In the Horse Training and Management program, students green break three 2-year-old colts. As sophomores, these students work with a green broke horse to further their training in areas such as reining, cow horse, roping and barrels. In the Equine Business Management program, students prepare for jobs such as equine rehabilitation, nutrition, vet tech, and lesson instructor. Students learn anatomy, nutrition, reproduction, business management and become trained to use our Vitafloor and Magnawave. Students from across the country come to Lamar, Colorado to further their education and become gainfully employed in the horse industry after their internships.
