Renovations to the Tillsonburg Community Centre are scheduled to begin after April 8. Construction will result in the temporary closure of amenities, including the indoor pool. A variety of communty swims, swim lessons, aqua fitness and aqua cycling classes will be available at Lake Lisgar Waterpark during the summer months. Have you heard? A major renovation to the waterpark building will be underway this summer! A $750,000 non- repayable contribution has been provided by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) as part of the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF).

The waterpark will remain OPEN during renovations, however there will not be any public access to the building. We strongly encourage you to use your Connect2Rec account to pre-pay for your visit before you arrive. Please be prepared for changes such as: • New temporary entrance and exit • No access to waterpark building including showers, washrooms or change areas • Concession stand closure A word about washroom facilities... • Temporary washrooms (i.e. portapotties and handwash stations) will be available • An outdoor shower will be available

• Shower at home if possible, to reduce wait times for the outdoor shower • Bring a cooler with drinks and snacks (no glass bottles or alcohol are allowed in the park)

Wristband Policy and Pool Admission Standards

*Individuals with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual 12+ years of age who is knowledgeable of their condition and will be responsible for direct supervision.

We use wristbands and a facility swim test to identify young and at-risk swimmers in the pool. To pass the facility swim test, a child must be able to swim two widths of the pool with his or her face in the water. Swimmers must maintain a regular, comfortable breathing pattern and must not stop during the entire distance.

Red Band All children 5 & under MUST be within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian (12 years+) on a 1:2 ratio. Children ages 6-9 who cannot pass the swim test MUST be within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian (12 years+) on a 1:4 ratio. This ratio can be increased to 1:8 if lifejackets are worn.

Yellow Band Children (6-9 years) will receive a yellow band if they would like to attempt to pass the facility swim test. Results of the test will determine whether the child receives a Red or Green band. When a child passes the swim test they will receive a FREE photo card as proof that they have passed. **

Green Band Children (6-9 years) who pass the Swim Admission Test may swim unaccompanied. Children with green bands may be asked to retake the test if staff are concerned that the child cannot demonstrate the ability to maintain the Swim Admission Standard.

Passed your swim test?

Once you have successfully completed your swim test your account will be updated, letting staff know you passed. On your next visit, provide your name and information to staff and you’ll receive your green band.

• No pucks/sticks allowed during public skate • No horseplay (e.g., racing, tag) • Backwards skating and figure skating manoeuvres are not allowed • All participants must follow the instructions of the Rink Guard on duty • Skate trainers are available for children

Water Bottle All campers need to bring a water bottle to camp EVERY day. They will have opportunities to re-fill their bottles throughout the day. Lunch and Snacks Pack a nutritious lunch, extra snacks, juice and a water bottle. Ensure all foods and snacks are PEANUT FREE. Play Clothing & Running Shoes We spend the majority of the day outside. Please ensure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather and camp activities. Sun Safety Items Campers must bring sunscreen of a SPF 30 or higher, a hat and sunglasses to camp each day. Sunscreen will be re-applied through the day. Bathing Suit and Towel We visit Lake Lisgar Waterpark on a daily basis for swimming. Be sure to bring a bathing suit and towel.

Theme: Camp Tillsonburg’s Got Talent! This week is dedicated to all of our campers’ talents and skills. Be ready for anything and everything!

Senior Camp (9 - 12 yrs) Description

Campers will be outdoors and active all summer long! Senior campers will play a variety of sports and go on multiple explorations within Town. Each day will be spent outdoors and may include trips to nearby Tillsonburg parks. Whether we are learning a new skill, or building on current talents, come ready to get active and have fun while at camp. Every day will include a trip to the waterpark to cool off.

PA Day Camps

Description Wondering what to do with the kids on those PA days off school? We have just the thing! This day camp program is both safe and fun. Activities include indoor and outdoor games and skating.* Be sure to pack skates, helmets, snacks and lunch for a jam packed day of activities to keep them active and engaged. About our preschool and youth swimming lessons...

• Levels are progressive. If you are unsure of what level to register in, please contact us for an assessment at aquatics@tillsonburg.ca or call 519.688.9011. • Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. • Parents not participating in lessons are not permitted to view lessons or swims from the pool deck and are directed to watch from the grass area, ensuring to respect any Public Health guidance.

• On occasion, the pool may be closed due to fouling. The pool will re-open once the water chemistry is balanced. If a pool fouling occurs during instructional lessons, we will provide a dry land lesson where possible, or provide each participant with a coupon to admit 1 child (3 - 12 yrs old) to the Lake Lisgar Waterpark. • Left something behind on your last visit? All found items are held for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, items are donated to a local charitable organization. • If your child is absent from their lesson, make up classes are not available.

• If you have questions regarding your child’s progress or lessons, see the Lesson Supervisor on Deck. • If you miss the last day of lessons, report cards can be claimed at the Lake Lisgar Waterpark Customer Service desk. Report cards will be held for 2 weeks from the last lesson date.

Aquatic user fees ($1.00) are included in all aquatic programs and admissions. This money helps fund capital projects and improvements.

Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED

Description This 16-hour Standard First Aid course provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR. This course is for those who want an in-depth understanding of medical emergencies and how to treat them. Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid is recognized by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board and the Ontario Health Regulations. Standard First Aid is one of the prerequisites to National Lifeguard.
