Y INTERNATIONAL UK LTD., an export distribution centre of Lulu Group Interna- tional, was set up in the year 2013 in Birminghamwith a strategic vision to secure sourcing of best quality products to be made available through their hypermarkets in the Middle East, Egypt, India, Malaysia and Indonesia, at the most aordable prices throughout the year. Y International is today a centre for procurement, consolidation and export of a wide range of British products including grocery, bakery, chilled and frozen products, fresh food, dairy, paper and toiletries. The logistics facility has given a huge boost for the export of British manufacturing and encouraged small scale manufacturers and local dairy farmers to conduct a close association with the company to market their products globally. The British company is also concentrating in the marketing of specialty food products such as “Free From” ranges including gluten free and organic products to support the Gulf region’s campaign to combat obesity and health issues. Due to the 10-fold business growth since opening of the Export distribution centre in Birmingham, the company has now invested GBP 15 Million with a new European HQ at Aston - Birmingham’s advanced manufacturing hub - for processing, packaging and export. The new 160,000 square feet state-of-the-art logistics warehouse will be operational by the rst quarter of 2019. The logistics warehouse employed 40 sta when it opened, but the escalating growth of the business has seen the employment expand to the current level of 275 sta. Considering its commendable performance during the short-span, Y Interna-tional was honoured to receive the prestigious “Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2017” and most recently has achieved recognition with an entry of 80th place on the Fourth Annual Sunday Times SME Track 100 League ranking of Britain’s 100 small and medium private companies with the fastest growing international sales in 2017.
