INTERNATIONAL TRADE

ADEY is working towards a future where every water-based heating and cooling system is protected; saving money, energy and time, as well as helping to reduce pollution across the globe. As a market-leading manufacturer, it is ADEY’s mission to eliminate the headache of system breakdowns for everyone and its approach is being adopted all around the world. This is why the company has been awarded a third Queen’s Award for Enterprise and its rst for International Trade. Since pioneering magnetic ltration technology 15 years ago, ADEY has grown to take more than 60% of the market in the UK. For the past ve years, it’s been carefully and strategically building on its homegrown success and now trades in 28 countries including China, United States, Australia and New Zealand. Solving a universal issue ADEY’s overseas growth has been so successful because the problems caused by the presence of black iron oxide sludge and corrosion in heating and cooling systems are not conned to the UK only. ADEY’s expertise and understanding of how to treat systems eectively to solve these issues for the long-term has helped position the company internationally as the driving force in the manufacture of water treatment products serving the global heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry. Its products are now protecting millions of systems around the world. “To be recognised with a Queen’s Award for our international growth is a huge honour. Not only is it the UK’s highest accolade for business success and the third for ADEY, it recognises the dedication of every member of the company, wherever they’re based,” says Edward Davies, ADEY’s chief operating ocer. “ADEY continues to revolutionise heating and cooling system protection and maintenance, investing in the development of the very best

magnetic lters, water treatment chemicals and associated products and services. In fact, no other business in our sector has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Innovation in two separate product areas (lters and chemicals). Our success is due to our belief that quality and performance are critical, and not dumbing down these elements in our products and services to hit a low price point. Not all products on the market are created equal and ADEY stands apart because we give heating installers condence that they’re buying products that are proven to work. “This latest Queen’s Award is testament to ADEY’s eorts in spreading the message and providing a solution for an issue that’s causing a headache for heating and cooling installers everywhere.” Expanding opportunities The company’s overseas expansion has been

incredibly successful in a relatively short time, which it believes is due to having a strategic, systematic and scalable business model that can be rolled out from country to country, says Davies. “We have primarily focused on building direct local sales forces and operational structures across Europe and in the US. In China, we’ve built a successful relationship with a cornerstone distributor. It has also been important for us to invest in building good relationships with selected OEMs. “Continued international expansion is fundamental to our future and we’re planning to launch in more countries within the next 12 to 24 months. To have received a Queen’s Award for what we’ve achieved already is a fantastic accolade but there’s plenty more for us to do.” ADEY Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL51 8NR • Tel: +44 (0)1242 546700 Fax: +44 (0)1242 546777 • info@adey.com www.adey.com
