There has been a coppersmiths based in Rothes, Moray, Scotland since the mid-1850s, servicing the edgling Scotch whisky industry in Speyside. Alexander Forsyth started life as a coppersmith in the 1890s and bought the company in 1933, explains chairman and grandson Richard Forsyth. The company is now in its fourth generation, led by Richard Jnr, and services the industry on a global basis. “We are delighted to have been awarded the prestigious honour of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade,” Richard Snr said. Forsyths is the largest and world’s leading manufacturer of copper stills and supplier of distillation equipment. The rm’s work is integral to giving whisky its distinctive nose and taste. The company is based in the heart of Speyside – a region recognised as the spiritual home of malt whisky – and its heritage and expertise has led to it becoming the go-to provider for the industry both locally and worldwide. Working with boutique craft distillers as well as established drinks conglomerates, some of the world’s nest spirits are made using Forsyths’ equipment. The rm’s distillation expertise is recognised EXVERITAS specialises in explosion safety and is an ATEX Notied Body and an IECEx Certication Body, providing internationally recognised product certication for global markets. In addition, ExVeritas provides the necessary Quality System Certication including UKAS accredited ISO9001:2015 and API approval. For manufacturing and industrial sites, ExVeritas oers safety consultancy on ATEX and DSEAR (including area classication, design, installation, inspection and risk assessment) to provide ‘turnkey’ explosion safety. To ensure the people who make, install or work with explosion safety equipment are competent, ExVeritas oer ‘Ex’ training (including CompEx) and ‘Ex’ inspection services and has developed its own proprietary Ex Inspection Software, called ‘iEx’.
