SIMPSONS PREMIUM is a family owned business developing natural and organic high-meat pet foods and treats to their own bespoke recipes. Founded in 2009 by Craig and Lisa Simpson, the business has gone from strength to strength. Having had issues with their own pets in terms of both dietary and skin problems they saw a gap in the market for a variety of a ordable pet foods and treats that contain only the highest quality natural ingredients, which can help to alleviate some of these issues. For dogs, the company currently produces complete dry foods, complete wet foods and treats. In the dry food range, the products consist of a Brown Rice range, three Grain Free ranges – including a Sensitive range for dogs with delicate digestions and skin problems – a 60/40 Range that uses novel protein sources, such as venison, rabbit and bu alo, for dogs with allergies to the more commonly used proteins, and an 80/20 high protein, low carbohydrate diet, which can be useful in helping to reduce weight in some dogs. There are eight grain-free wet foods that all contain organic vegetables and include exotic meats, such as kangaroo, wild boar and ostrich and two fully certi ed organic products with more

products being added to the range this year. The treat range consists of 11 di erent avours, including exotic meat, all being totally grain free. They are ideal for dogs with sensitivities and are also proving very popular with cats. The cat foods they produce include the UK’s rst 90/10 high protein, low carbohydrate dry complete diet and a range of ve grain-free high meat wet foods including one fully certi ed organic product and again with new products being added to the range this year. The products are distributed from the company’s warehouses and are available through a variety of networks, including online sales, local independent pet stores, veterinary practices, dog trainers, kennels and nationwide wholesale. The company began exporting to the European market in 2013, with the products currently being available in 23 European countries, and have

more recently expanded into the Asian market where they also hope to see their sales continue to grow, particularly with more products being added to the portfolio this year to appeal to this market. The company has also recently launched its own websites in France and Holland with more countries to follow in the next year. Lisa Simpson, joint founder of the company, said: “We are all incredibly proud to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and it is testament to how hard our team work and the quality of the products. “We have had substantial growth throughout Europe in the past three years and demand for the products has been overwhelming, particularly in the Italian and Polish markets. We are of course especially grateful to all our international stockists and customers who have had faith in our brand and helped us to achieve this accolade”.
