Veterans, Virginia wants to serve you! This Veterans Resource Guide is your road map to veterans benefits in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is filled with useful information on the programs and services offered by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS), other state agencies, and partners. We are very proud of all the innovative programs and services we offer. In this guide, you will read about: • The Virginia Veterans Network, a free network of veteran-focused organizations committed to providing gold-standard service to veterans and their families. • Our network of 38 benefits offices, stretching from Accomac to Big Stone Gap, which will help you access the federal and state veterans benefits you have earned through service and sacrifice.

• The Virginia Veteran and Family Support (VVFS) program, which monitors and coordinates behavioral health, rehabilitative, and supportive services through an integrated and responsive system of care. • How DVS helps connect you to more than 900 world-class programs in Virginia that are certified for GI Bill® use. • Our Military Medics and Corpsmen (MMAC) program, which helps put highly skilled military medical professionals on an express track to employment in hospital and health care settings. • The Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program and the V3 Program—Transition Services, which connect veterans with employers who understand and appreciate the value of your military service. • Our veterans care centers, which offer in-patient skilled nursing, memory, and short-term rehabilitation care. • How DVS provides an honored final resting place for veterans and their families at three state veterans cemeteries. • The Virginia War Memorial, the Commonwealth’s tribute to Virginia’s men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice from World War II to the present. • How to get a Veteran Indicator on your driver’s license and how to buy one of the more than 50 military and veterans license plates offered by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). • Legal assistance offered by the Office of the Attorney General and through our colleges and universities. • Employment assistance offered by the Virginia Employment Commission. • And much more!
