Ils ont maintenant remporté cinq des six derniers championnats de la Coupe Barkley depuis 2016. (La ligue n’a pas joué en 2020 et 2021 en raison de la pandémie de COVID-19.) Alexis Lafrance et Marc-Oliver McCarthy ont chacun marqué un but pour les Vikings. Yan Bessette et Tristan Simoneau ont mar- qué deux buts chacun, ce qui a valu à ce dernier l’honneur d’être le joueur le plus utile de la finale. Casselman a dominé non seulement le tableau d’affichage, mais tout le match, limitant Carleton Place à seulement 16 tirs au but contre 33 pour les Vikings. Le capitaine des Vikings, Brad Leblanc,
a été nommé joueur le plus utile des séries éliminatoires de la ligue. Le natif de Cla- rence-Rockland a joué 16 matchs et, bien qu’il n’ait pas marqué de buts pendant les séries éliminatoires, il a amassé un nombre impressionnant de 13 passes, de loin le plus élevé de tous les joueurs de la ronde éliminatoire de la EOJHL. Leblanc a terminé au deuxième rang avec cinq buts et 49 passes en saison régulière, pour un total de 54 points Bessette, de Bourget, était au sommet du classement tant en saison régulière qu’en séries éliminatoires. Au cours de la saison régulière, Bessette a accumulé 66 points grâce à 22 buts et 44 passes. À la fin des
séries éliminatoires, il a récolté un autre 18 points grâce à 11 buts et sept autres passes. Les Vikings ont vaincu les Canadians d’Ottawa et les Golden Knights d’Ottawa- Ouest, qui ont terminé au-dessus des Vikings pendant la saison régulière, en route vers la finale contre Carleton Place, qui a rem- porté la division Richardson. Casselman a terminé deuxième de la division Martin avec 70 points, trois points derrière les Golden Knights et 15 points devant les Canadians Jr. d’Ottawa.
L’équipe de hockey des Vikings de Casselman est championne après avoir vaincu les Canadians junior B de Carleton Place dans les séries élimi- natoires de la Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. Ils ont remporté le trophée commémoratif Dwayne Barkley tant convoité, le samedi 13 avril. Les Vikings ont remporté la série finale en six parties, avec un écart retentissant de 6-1, après avoir perdu contre les Canadians dans la première et la quatrième partie des séries.

Access to Russell’s walking and running track at the sports dome is now free thanks to the United Counties of Prescott and Russell’s community investment fund. Mayor Pierre Leroux, in one of his fi- nal public appearances as mayor before stepping down for a job with The Nation’s administration, announced the initiative on April 9. Reimbursements for members paid in 2024 will be given at a future date. Thanks to the Regional Community Invest- ment Fund, a United Counties of Precott and Russell (UCPR) program that sets aside $50,000 for each muncipality to access for cultural and recreational purposes each year, Russell introduced the removal of member- ship with the goal of “enhancing community health” and “ensuring equitable access to key recreational facilities.” Geneviève Lajoie, Mayor of Casselman was present for the presentation.
