For the typical program in our data, one would expect a program to have a CV of 0.80 with a mean EAC cost growth of 1.36, which reflects a 36% increase of the final EAC from the initial EAC. We recognize a limitation of our study is our results may only apply to DoD ACAT I aircraft programs. Because of this, we do suggest follow-on studies for other weapon platforms to determine if what we concluded for this study holds for those types.
