Fast-track flooring solutions from Cemfloor liquid screeds
C ovid-19 and Brexit have caused delays to many commercial and domestic projects across the UK and Ireland. However, thanks to its many productivity features, Cemfloor screed by McGrath’s Limestone is one product that can help make up lost time. Cemfloor can be laid quickly with a smaller team; in most cases up to 10 times faster than conventional screed, or up to 2,000 square metres a day. Plus, it can be
foot trafficked within 24-48 hours. Much easier to lay than traditional
screeds, the self-levelling screed doesn’t need to be power floated to achieve a smooth surface. The result: shorter build times and increased productivity for customers as other construction work can begin relatively quickly. If underfloor heating is a requirement for your build, then a liquid screed option is the way to go as heat output is enhanced due to the reduced depth of screed installed and higher thermal conductivity. Flowing liquid screed fully encapsulates the heating pipes leaving almost no air voids around the pipes, and throughout the screed. The underfloor heating can be commissioned after seven days, and once the cycle is finished (depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations), floor coverings can be applied. If there is no underfloor heating, the screed can be forced dried and ready for tiling or other floor coverings within seven days. As Cemfloor is a cement-based screed, floor coverings can generally be applied much faster than calcium sulphate/anhydrite screeds. CEMFLOOR PRODUCTS Cemfloor Therm is self-compacting and specifically designed for use with underfloor heating systems. It can also be installed at much thinner depths compared to traditional sand and cement. Cemfloor HPC is a specially formulated self-compacting concrete used to create stronger and more durable floor slabs with less shrinkage and increased bay sizes to minimise joints. Cemfloor Non-Heated (NH) is a high performance, cement-based, free- flowing, self-compacting liquid screed and can be installed quickly, foot trafficked in 24-48 hours and has minimal drying shrinkage (<0.05%). It is suitable for a variety of applications; new builds or renovations and single or multi- storey projects. Cemfloor Level Plus is a specially formulated ultra-thin, self-levelling cementitious floor screed. It is a mixture of Cemfloor binder, cement, water and a suitable sand, and complies with BSEN 13813:2002. It is specifically designed for use as a thin section screed at a depth between 12-50mm and to bridge the gap between bagged SLU materials and standard screeds Cemfloor Therm RTU is a specially formulated ready-to-use, self-levelling cementitious floor screed and can be applied to a wide range of floors. It complies with EN 13813:2002. Cemfloor Therm RTU is available in 25kg and 1,000kg bags.
