WOODVALE CONSTRUCTION TAKES PRIDE IN WORKING IN A SPIRIT OF TRUST AND MUTUAL COLLABORATION ON ALL PROJECTS… BUILDING PARTNERS

P ractising collaborative working every day, Woodvale has a successful track record of building long-term relationships with clients, their design teams and external stakeholders which was evident at St Patrick’s PS and Holy Evangelists’ PS. HOLY EVANGELISTS’ PS The success of this scheme has been built on relationships. The client design team and the contractor design team worked collaboratively for the benefit of the Principal, staff and pupils of Holy Evangelists’ and the wider St Luke’s Parish Community. Ciaran Bothwell, Site Manager, formed close relations with the school community even helping to create a community, garden during the lockdown utilising surplus site materials. The garden project provided pupils with a constructive occupation during lockdown along with a sense of wellbeing and pride in the school environment. Woodvale also sponsored the ‘Heroes of the Pandemic’ award to recognise the efforts of the teaching staff during the period of home-schooling.

School Principal Claire Robinson praised the Woodvale team, “As the Principal, they included me and worked with me for the betterment of the project and for this I will always be grateful. I wish them all the best of luck in future projects. In truth, I’ll be sad to see the last Woodvale van vacating our site.” ST PATRICK’S PS Site Manager Dermot Corrigan hosted information meetings for the residents living close to the St Patrick’s construction site, informing them of the programme of works while the design team worked with the pupils to create a site safety poster, which brightened up the site hoarding. The completed school has given the community a great sense of pride. School Principal Margaret Neeson, said, ”The staff and pupils of St Patrick’s Primary School are thrilled to be in their new building. The building is architecturally stunning with its glass balustrades, high ceilings and spacious corridors with resource areas where we can extend the teaching and learning. “It is such a welcome addition to the wider community of the New Lodge, and we

are delighted for the local community to have such a modern and beautiful new school in the heart of it. “We look forward to the additional play area, MUGA pitch and parking facilities for our parents, visitors and staff. We are excited to show it off to our families in the very near future.”
