NI CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY HIGH ON THE AGENDA AS DISCUSSIONS TAKE PLACE AT ULTRA-MODERN FACILITY... Gleeds host RICSpresidential visit to flagshipPwCproject

G leeds property and construction consultants recently welcomed Clement Lau, President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Richard Collins, RICS Interim Chief Executive to its flagship PwC Merchant Square fit-out project. The duo met Tim Hanna (Project Director and Head of Project & Information Management), Victoria Allen (Information Manager) and Jeff McCreanor (Associate Director) from the consultancy alongside Mark Spence, Managing Director of the Construction Employers Federation (CEF), to discuss the construction industry in Northern Ireland. Fresh from attending COP26, the President and his team were keen to continue the climate conversation with a focus on sustainability and the innovative range of new construction methods being developed by those operating in the built environment as it works towards a net zero carbon future. The group also talked about how the implementation of RICS standards is contributing to improvements across the property and construction sector, as well as taking a closer look at some of the most exciting projects being delivered by Gleeds across Ireland. Commenting on the visit, Tim Hanna said, “This project is exactly the kind of future-proof development that Belfast and Northern Ireland needs in order to appeal to a modern workforce, and I am delighted to have been able to showcase what we achieved here.” Mark Spence said, “It was a pleasure to join Gleeds and the RICS President and CEO in the offices of PwC Belfast, a first- class showcase of partnership between client, consultants and contractors that

has delivered the most sustainable possible environment for modern working.
