many but we seem as one, and we have a lot of things to talk to you about.” I was in shock, how did this freak know my name? This must’ve had something to do with my dad’s disappearance and the reason we were leaving in such a hurry. But what was the connection between my dad and this freak Scimitor, surely I would remember if I had met this monster before?. “Sssso what do you know about ssuperpowers?” “Not much” I replied “Well every sssingle power you’ve heard of iss a resssult of humansss encountering our people.” “What people? What are you talking about?” I asked. By this time I was very confused and just wanted these stupid barbed cuffs off. “Listen I will answer any questions you have to the best of my abilities if you take these painful restraints off!” “Your termss are within acceptable parameters”. His eyes went in two different directions at the same time which would have been hilarious if not for the hissing sound emanating from him. Suddenly the barbed wire wasn’t penetrating my skin. It was smooth and cold then with a startle I realised my torturous shackles had transformed into a snake! Well at least I wasn’t in any more pain. “Okay so what do you want to know?” “How did your dad know we were coming?” So that is what the call was about. But maybe Dad wouldn’t want these creeps knowing anything, so I replied to the best of my abilities. I never said which abilities. Dad always said I was too honest to be a liar. ”He didn’t know you were coming.” “If sso why were you dressssed in army gear with a bag full of food and thingsss like clothesss?” One bag? There were two, mine and Dad’s one. They must not have found my bag! I still had to come up with an answer, quick. “Umm… We were going on a camping trip.” “Really? Well then did you know you and your father have ssspecial powerss?” This comment shocked me into silence. Ben Knowles, 8C
