New Cars for 2016: Dream Machines

Ferrari F12 Tdf A hardcore, track based version of the F12 Berniletta, the F12 Tdf promises to be the ultimate track focused Ferrari, and at £340,000 the customers hope so too. It is the successor to the Ferrari 599 GTO, which enthralled the motoring world when it came out in 2010. Power is up by 40 horsepower to 770hp. It is lighter by 110kg, which allows the naturally aspirated 6.3 litre V12 to propel the F12 Tdf to 60mph in 2.9 seconds and on towards 211mph.

New Porsche 911 GT3 RS The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS is the ultimate track focused Porsche. Like the Ferrari it is lighter, with a

new carbon fibre and aluminium body shell. The 3.8 litre flat six found in the normal GT3 has been upgraded to 4.0 litres and now it produces 500bhp, which coupled with the sufficient weight loss, means the new 911 is able to do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds and maxes out at 193mph. The prices start at £131,000, but it is rumored that models have been sold for over £250,000!

BMW i8 The BMW i8. A pioneer in Hybrid technology but despite representing the future can it hold its own in the current generation of supercars? Yet, although measly in comparison to its elite cousins in the shape of the McLaren P1, the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder, it does not lose any of the futuristic materials and specialty in the process. It still does 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds and goes onto a limited top speed of 155mph. It is four wheel drive, so has the grip to keep up with the most exotic of supercars. It is powered by a tiny 3 cylinder petrol engine paired with a 150bhp electric motor so in total, the new i8 produces 352bhp.
