He had beat it once and been in remission. This filled us all with hope and we almost forgot he had ever had it. Then came the devasting news that it had returned, and this time to take his life. Watching someone who meant so much to me transform from a larger-than-life character to a mere shadow of the fun-loving figure that had always been a huge part of my life still hurts today. More needs to be done. More screening to detect the early signs of this disease. More to find treatments and cures for all types of cancer. I’m doing this ride to help raise money for CRUK, hoping that one day we will beat cancer.”
