Foundation, with some 7,000 Oklahomans donating more than $2.25 million to build labs and a research hospital. What began as a twoperson operation has grown into an internationally recognized institute that employs more than 400 researchers and staff. OMRF’s scientists focus on cancer, heart disease, autoimmune disorders and diseases of aging. Their work has produced more than 700 patents and contributed to lifesaving drugs distributed in hospitals around the world. In April 2025, OMRF unveiled a new Center for Biomedical Data Sciences, boosting its computing and analytics capabilities to support research in cancer, heart disease and autoimmune conditions. OMRF also recently secured a $3.7 million National Institutes of Health grant to study Alzheimer’srelated brain immune activity over a fiveyear period. At its core, OMRF connects deep scientific inquiry with realworld impact. It seeks to transform discoveries about how the body works into diagnostics and therapies that change lives.
MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY
Mercy Hospital OKC offers innovative health and social services to improve the health and quality of life of the communities it serves, with special focus on people who are economically disadvantaged. Mercy is a full-service tertiary hospital. It provides services such as BirthPlace, breast care, cancer resource center, day surgery, emergency care, Gamma Knife, home care, heart care, hospice, multiple sclerosis center, NeuroScience Institute,
neonatal intensive care, physical medicine and rehabilitation, robotic surgery and urgent care.
Construction is complete at Mercy Hospital OKC on a new four-story building that houses the Love Family Women’s Center. The $98 million, 175,000-square-foot facility opened in fall 2023. In 2020, Mercy opened its south location at Sooner Road and Interstate-240, featuring more than 200,000 square feet of space and 36 additional beds. The facility has enough room for a full care team to provide specialty services including oncology, imaging and inpatient and outpatient surgery. OKLAHOMA HEART HOSPITAL Oklahoma Heart Hospital, created by cardiologists, delivers expert individualized care in a comfortable setting. It opened as the first alldigital heart hospital in the United States. It has two hospital campuses in OKC—North and South—plus a network of more than 80 cardiovascular specialists working in over 60 clinics and hospital sites across the state. OHH treats and prevents diseases of the heart and lungs. Its facilities include openheart and peripheral vascular surgical suites, cardiac and peripheral vascular catheterization labs, electrophysiology labs and fullservice emergency rooms. Both campuses feature private patient rooms with advanced criticalcare technology.
