Setanta Construction Ltd was named the winner of the Commercial or Public Sector Project Award at the 2023 FMB Master Builder Awards for the creation of a gravity-defying, cantilevered, 120sqm art gallery structure in the South of France. Setanta Construction Ltd created off-site constructed building enclosure components for a challenging site location that required precise planning and clever engineering. Accessed across a short bridge, the structure is almost entirely suspended off the ground with only four small footings touching the ground. Components were made from I-Beams specially treated against termites and sheeted with Garnicia Duraply to ensure an incredibly robust structure and a long lifespan. Judges described its construction of a new build house in a prestigious Cultra development as “exceptional.” Designed by Des Ewing architects, this impressive build featured great attention to detail of design, both externally and internally, and also to landscaping, both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’. MRPx Construction’s Directors stated, “We believe this house reflects our absolute commitment to producing workmanship finish of the highest quality.” The MRPx team was praised by the client for its professionalism, expertise and unwavering commitment to deliver such exceptional craftsmanship and also the use of top-grade materials for this exclusive high-end housing project.
