W ith over 50 years of experience specifying and supplying doors, Doorways is the largest door distributor in Northern Ireland. The British Standard BS EN 12519 defines a doorset as a ‘complete unit consisting of a door frame and a door leaf or leaves, supplied with all essential parts from a single source’. Doorsets are pre-assembled. Therefore, the manufacturer includes all the correct components. This guarantees that the entire doorset, including the individual hardware, will match the tested design. It also means that there is less room for error because the compatible hardware is in place. This avoids having to source
the correct hardware separately for each door. There is also time saved on site from a fitting perspective. Doorways has completed an array of different doorset projects in the last year. These include The Ebrington Hotel in Londonderry/Derry, various hospital upgrades, and most recently an apartment block at the redevelopment of the Kings Hall site in Belfast. Many of the doorsets for the iconic Kings Hall development were assembled by the Joinery Department at Doorways. Doorways is fully certified to supply fire doorsets, which was a requirement for this project. The Ebrington Hotel consisted of over 400 doorsets. “Once the order was confirmed, we provided a delivery of materials in line with the project timeline”, said Robert McNeill, Sales Manager for Doorways. “From the starting point, we were focused on the details as well as meeting project deadlines. We worked
