FOSROC’S WATERPROOFING AND TECHNICAL TEAMS PROVIDE THE SOLUTION... Case study: Gowriehill Distribution Service Reservoir, Dundee City
G owriehill Distribution Service Reservoir in Dundee City, managed by Scottish Water, faced an issue with a brittle asphalt waterproofing layer over a beam and block roof in late 2021. To address this, Scottish Water engaged Mackenzie Construction, who enlisted specialist contractor Fraser Bruce Group. With a longstanding partnership with Fosroc spanning nearly 40 years, Fraser Bruce Group contacted the construction materials manufacturer with their requirements. The 20-year warranty was essential for ensuring longevity. After assessing the roof’s condition and consulting Fosroc’s Waterproofing and Technical teams, Nitoseal MS600 was applied to seal all
joints between the precast slabs. Proofex Engage Detail Strip was then applied across joints prior to the application of Proofex 3000 self-adhesive membrane across the whole roof. Proofex Sheetdrain 80 then topped this, and the results impressed both contractor and client. This
