COMPANY PROFILE

TB+A IS GUIDED BY THREE PILLARS TO DELIVER WHOLE-LIFE SERVICES AND BEST PRACTICES AND BE A SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AND ETHICAL PARTNERSHIP…

Positive impact T he success of TB+A relies on the quality and effectiveness of its people and processes. The practice is guided by three pillars: achieving quality and consistency, sustainability at heart and growing people. The first one refers to identifying and improving technical quality and consistency, bringing out best practice, streamlining processes and embedding their BIM capability in projects. The company also plays their part in reversing climate change and resource consumption, and has been repeatedly awarded for the support they provide its staff to achieve their maximum potential through leadership, management, training and mentoring. SUSTAINABILITY AT HEART As a socially responsible and ethical partnership, TB+A provides roadmaps for clients to decarbonise the built environment, representing 40% of all global emissions. The practice became carbon-neutral in 2020, and its Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan (SSAP) aligns with 12 UN- Sustainable Development Goals. TB+A’s ‘Whole Life’ approach is based around the

circular economy of the built environment with each service headed by a Centre of Excellence covering R&D, training and best-practice. Involvement in all aspects of the building life cycle positively influences the sustainability of clients’ assets for the long term. TB+A is a signatory of the World Green Building Council Net Zero Carbon commitment, and the practice is part of a series of green advocacy working groups and councils. They also disclose their environmental data to the Carbon Disclosure Project. Through these activities, TB+A is setting new priorities and developing better ways of working, improving the sharing of information and best practice, all to achieve net zero carbon by 2030 in support of the Government’s 2050 net zero target. GROWING PEOPLE TB+A is in the top 2% of businesses globally to be awarded the Investors in People (IiP) ‘We invest in People’ Platinum classification, a testament to their staff people and the role they play in helping the practice make work better. This high-performing classification recognises

TB+A’s commitment to training and development in all aspects of engineering, teamwork, technology, communication and management. Their multi-award-winning apprenticeship scheme provides apprentices with the opportunity to become professional engineers. In 2021, TB+A was the first business globally to be awarded the Investors in People ‘We Invest in Apprentices’ Platinum accreditation. Most of their senior team joined TB+A as trainees and apprentices and have all grown through the business together. “For us, it’s not just about sharing knowledge, but instilling a sense of commitment to others that’s long-lasting and breeds a culture of friendship and relationships,” commented Partner Andrew Campbell. “We are gatekeepers; we are only here for a short period, so it is fundamental to pass on knowledge and experience to the next generation.” This commitment to their staff has been recognised to the highest level. TB+A has received the Princess Royal Training Award, acknowledging their efforts in encouraging diversity in the industry and gained over 45 awards in the last five years.
