COMMERCIAL OPEN HEIFERS
BREEDING OPTION: If you choose, we will keep your heifers and breed them for you. For an additional $400 per head, we will AI the heifers in late November. Your heifers will be managed with our replacement heifers. After they are bred AI, we will turn out a calving ease Balancer bull. You will need to pick them up or arrange trucking in January. If you choose to AI them to a TJB bull we have enough semen in inventory, there will be no additional charge. If you want them bred to something different, purchase and delivery of that semen to TJB is your responsibility.
TJB is offering Fall born open heifers in this year’s sale. These heifers will be 13-15 months old at sale time and ready to breed. Everyone appreciates the maternal value of Gelbvieh-influenced females, and we are pleased to offer females from our own program. Some are Gelbvieh- influenced commercial females from our recipient herd. These females originated from our friend and respected cattleman, Larry Hadden of Gibson, Georgia. The remainder are heifers from our registered breeding herd. We are simply producing more calves than our system can manage, so we chose this sale as a marketing opportunity for these females.
