WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 8

Regional Caucuses Facilitated by the Regional Vice President (RVP), the caucuses provide the opportunity to share details about the committee meetings attended that week in preparation for Thursday’s Board of Directors Meeting. NYSAR New Board of Director Training New directors must attend this mandatory training. Nobel Prize winner Herbert Simon coined the phrase “Attention Economy” when he theorized that human attention spans are a commodity. Nearly 50 years later, most of us would admit to being “content overloaded.” Award-winning PR professional David Siroty, founder of Imagine Productions, will take us on a journey as we learn how to break through the noise and reach consumers with the right messages in the right ways. Instructor Development Program Attending instructors will learn how to train agents to use social media, particularly video, effectively with current and potential clients from Amy and Rephael Chorew. Plus, instructors will also discover how to apply social media marketing tools to grow or enhance their own training businesses. Pre-registration required. Young Professionals Network (YPN) presents: “Breaking Through in the Attention Economy” Legislative Policy Forum Saleem Cheeks, counselor, public affairs at Eric Mower & Associates, will offer a recap of the NY First Home campaign and a preview of future plans. Drum will be explored along with current trends involving military members, and what most military members want for their housing. Housing Opportunities Committee “Military Housing: The Past, Present & Future” This panel discussion about the Fort Drum military base will help all attendees learn more about the VA mortgage process and the differences between purchasing a military home and the typical residential property. The extent of the housing mission at Fort Multiple Listing Issues & Policies Committee Matt Cohen, Clareity’s chief technologist, will share his insight about what’s happening in the industry as well as with REALTOR ® associations and the MLS.
