Attack Your Lane Kilo SkitL’z raps for progress

A kiya Alexander, who goes by the stage name Kilo SkitL’z, is familiar with working a crowd of fans. As a wide receiver and running back for the women’s pro football team Madison Blaze, and a former Badgers women’s basketball point guard, she’s ignited crowds with her teams on the eld and the court. Around 2010 she added the recording studio and stage as full-time performance platforms, and tapped into a talent in the making. “I’ve always been in love with music, I just never thought I’d be the one actually performing it,” she says. “I used to fall asleep every night with tunes. It was always R&B, that soulful music that I was in tune to.” Kilo mixed a lifelong anity for music with the work ethic and dedication instilled by a lifetime of competitive athletics.e combination came about organically, she says, thanks in part to her roommate and close friend who performs under the name 1neofmani. A dedicated rapper and member of Bloodline hip hop crew out of Peoria, Ill., he brought Kilo to help in the studio where he’d record his latest material.
